Inconel 718 does not cut like aluminium: low thermal conductivity means heat stays at the tool tip rather than carrying away in the chip, so speeds and feeds are set for tool life first and cycle time second. We rough this segment soft, before the age-hardening heat treat the drawing calls for, then finish-grind the sealing faces afterward — cutting it hard from bar stock would burn through carbide inserts in minutes.
